Writing response

I fell from the sky and landed in a park, it was noisy and the park was packed with young blacks playing basketball. my head was spinning as I stood up. A ball rolled to my feet, and the young men called for it, I was on the three point line so I shot it. Swish. Some boys on the bleachers oohed and awed. I looked up at them and most of them shot up around six and a half feet, while I stood a small five feet. I watched for a while and when someone left I went in. As quick as a flash a player bolted by me, and dunked it down with power. He was known as fly. "Come on man, that's your guy!" A small young adult shouted at me. Then a skyscraper confronted me, "Hey, don't wory 'bout it, that's fly, the best. Oh, I'm Albert King, I'm kinda new here too." He smiled and I smiled back. I sat down and watched for a while, until some annoying african american boys started to tease me. "You aint got no game white boy" He laughed and his friends joined in. I kind of expected it, I'm the only white guy anywhere near the courts.

Basically if Iwere in the book "Heaven is a Playground" Almost nothing would change, unless I was a significant character. If I weren't very important I would not be associated with any of the main characters, and might not even be on their team. However, if I was an important character I would probably be a scrub player who only goes in when a teams up by twenty. Really the reason why I would be noticed, if I was, would be my skin color. Especially because it was a time when racism was ending, but still going on a little bit. Also because in Brooklyn almost everybody living in the ghetto, which is where this story takes place, is black. But overall my presence would not change the books direction.
