With this quote I will answer the question about the hardships on the journey. Well, the reason that the journey happened in the first place was the war in Achaks home town. He thought he lost one of his very best friends, Moses. So that was a hardship for a while. Next was Deng who died midway in the journey, In his sleep. Then after Valentino was reunited with another one of his friends, William K., he died too. So many hardships and deaths. I don't think I would have taken it how he did. A good thing that happened was that Moses wasn't dead and they found eachother in Ethiopia. Possibly the worst part of the journey for Valentino was that Ethiopia wasn't how he expected it to be. Maybe it was that William sayed it was heaven, or that they had been walking so far that they expected it to be amazing. Really though Valentino thought it was the same as Sudan, and didn't believe that he was in Ethiopia.

I will judge moses for this character judgement. I guess I like him, but I haven't really gotten to know him. I do know that he has been through so much, even more than Valentino. First he was kept in a barn with rats, and he had to give blood to the army, then sold as a slave twice, and he said that's why he wound up here.

Question: Would you have agreed to take the job that Dut told Valentino to do, or disagreed?

For this quote I will not answer one of the questions, instead I will talk about Valentinos parents. First, he doesn't know if they are alive or dead, where the are, or if they are living a new life. But one thing is for sure, he has gotten many offers from people to be their son. In this particular quote it was an elderly woman who lived by herself. This was in Ethiopia.He says that he doesn't want to be, mainly because his parents still may be looking for him.

For this character judgement I will talk about Valentinos parents. Firstly, his dad has five other wives not including his mom. He is starting to lose memmory of his parents, but he remembers how kind and gentle his mother was. Plus he remembers her many yellow dresses and clothing. I like the character of valentinos mom because she helped him survive the war, risking her life.

Question: If you were Valentinos mom, would you have risked your life to save your son, Valentino?
